Apprentice Sales Consultant - June 2019 Class

Description

Staples is currently seeking motivated, high-energy, entry level B2B outside sales candidates to join our Commercial channel’s Apprentice Sales Consultant (ASC) training program.  
This program includes rotations through sales operations, prospecting, inside and outside sales positions and provides all of the skills and experience needed to succeed in an outside sales role. The first 6-9 months of this position will be located in Westminster, CO (generous relocation assistance available), followed by an agreed upon regional sales position.  
We are hiring for our June 2019 class and strongly encourage December 2018 and May 2019 grads to apply.
 
Position Responsibilities
  • Actively participate in team environment and group settings
  • Ability to make decisions with little or no direction and to work autonomously 
  • Engage in ongoing, extensive trainings that include, but are not limited to: Staples PRO Categories (Facility Solutions, Technology, Promotional Products and Furniture), Staples WAY sales process, phone skills, vendor partnerships, pricing strategies, process and systems trainings, account management and business development skill sets
  • Develop presentation skills through sales scenario activities and role plays
  • Partner with account management teams and leadership to create and execute strategic approach to drive compliance and incremental sales of existing customers
  • Make outbound calls and in-person visits to achieve goals of sales growth  
  • Regularly engage with and present to senior leadership
  • Gain exposure to different markets and career path options in sales organization

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
  • Highly professional with demonstrated high level of achievement in College or in an entry level-sales role 
  • Willingness to relocate from Colorado after 6-9 months for a role based on openings and business needs

Preferred Qualifications  
  • College Degree preferred in Sales or Sales Certificate
  • Consultative selling, solutions selling, insight selling, negotiation and advanced client management skills
  • Ability to succeed in a competitive selling environment
  • Ability to make decisions with little or no direction
  • 2-3 years of sales experience
