Health and Wellness VISTA
The member will work in the Division of Student Life at WVU Tech, specifically the counseling center. The position will report to the Director of Counseling and Wellness Programming to develop sustainable psychoeducational programming for undergraduate students predominately studying in the STEM fields. The member will be responsible for creating relationships with different departments on campus as well as building and maintaining relationships with community partners to increase prevention and awareness of mental health issues, social problems, and health problems as they relate to college students. The VISTA would also aid in the reduction of the stigma attached to most of these issues and disorders. Working with our mentoring program and developing education programming for mentors and mentees to assist in the development and success of our students while focusing on diversity and inclusion is another task that the VISTA would be involved with. The member would be responsible for reporting and tracking numbers of participants as well as community and campus partners.
