Health Communications Consultant

ERPi is currently searching for a full-time Communications Consultant to support The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization (OEHRM). Currently the VA is undertaking an enterprise-wide Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) effort through the procurement of the Cerner commercial electronic health record software and related support services. This role contributes to improving the Veteran’s lives and working towards a larger mission.
 
The ideal candidate will be an energetic strategic communications professional supporting fast-moving and wide-ranging communications projects and initiatives. The candidate should be innovative and strategic and have a passion for motivating and engaging stakeholders. Help the team develop essential communications products, including, communications plans and collateral, including fact sheets, media guides, press releases and strategic level briefings. Communications is a key function to support initiatives and to build awareness.

Responsibilities
Required Skills and Experience:
  • At least 10 years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 18 years without a degree
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills with a focus on attention to detail
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Strong organization, prioritization, team-work and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate thoughts, ideas, and solutions logically in written and oral situations
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, tasks and deadlines concurrently
  • Ability to build and manage internal and external relationships at all levels within an organization, while possessing diplomacy and cooperative style necessary to work effectively with diverse individuals across functional disciplines
  • Ability to be an innovative, resourceful, and a collaborative problem solver
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, results-driven environment
  • Ability to provide thought leadership to senior-level clients
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, tasks and deadlines concurrently
  • Ability to quickly respond to high visibility requests
  
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Experience with VA/ DOD
  • Experience with EMR/EHR, large system health integration
  • Master’s Degree
 
*Candidate will be expected to be on site in Washington, DC, full time.
